Just like the longest journey that begins with a single step, so does each sampler begin with a single stitch.  All stitches begin the same way, by sticking the needle first in, then out of the fabric.  The only difference between one type of stitch and the other is where you put that needle and how you manipulate the thread.   - Hands Across The Sea

My Current Projects

I Have Very Little Self-Control!

There are so many projects I want to work on and see come together within my hoops.  Honestly, if I could stitch all day and not feel guilty about all the rest of the chores I'm not getting accomplished around the house...I'd stitch for hours upon hours!  And then when I watch a Flosstube and see the progress of these other stitcher's projects...I feel like I must be the slowest stitcher around.

Usually, I am a stitcher that doesn't like to have more than three to four projects going at one time because I am motivated by finished projects.  I enjoy seeing significant progress being made on what I'm stitching so I try to only concentrate on a few.  I have my ongoing stitching projects thoughtfully placed at various sitting areas around the house so I always have something to grab and stitch depending on where I am in the house.  I have a difficult time just sitting and not doing something with my hands.  (Which is funny considering I sit in a wheelchair most of my day.)  :)

I've now gone past my normal WIP's and started a new one this week.  I can't help myself...I get a pattern in the mail and I just have to start it! I saw this pattern below and was instantly drawn to the motifs and colors.  It's a fairly newer pattern from 2020 and I haven't seen being stitched by many.  It's a chart by "From the Heart" reproductions and it's a beautiful sampler called "Hannah Hetherington."

I started this a few days ago with the called for colors and I'm stitching it on 36 count Bramble linen.  I'll post progress next week!

In the meantime, below is my progress on Brother's Keeper from Plum Street Samplers.  I'm stitching this on 32 count Jobelan Queen's Anne Lace.

The first panel (one of ten) finished - it's the 5th panel in the pattern.

This is just a space to share what projects I'm currently working on while I sit and listen to the quietness of the day and the friends I encounter.
